Day 81 through Day 90

Day 81 ( Sunday, March 22 )
selfie time- I look a bit tan.

Day 82 ( Monday, March 23 )

Headed over to Universal Studios and noticed almost every ride splashed water on us. The new minion ride was pretty cute and the construction for Harry Potter world has begun. After all the rides, I may have gotten a little motion sickness due to the simulators.

Day 83 ( Tuesday, March 24 )

Took photos in the park with my orange flowery dress however the professional ones won't be seen for a while. So here's another selfie from this day.

Day 84 ( Wednesday, March 25 )

Went hiking in the local area and watched the sunset. The sky was absolutely stunning.

Day 85 ( Thursday, March 26 )

Yesterday was the birthday of someone special. We were able to celebrate with a giant fruit tart from our local bakery. When I said "King", the lady repeated and asked "You mean like, THE king? The king of kings?"

Day 86 ( Friday, March 27 )
Went shopping today and was very productive in crossing things off my "to-do" list. Bought these new tops as motivation to work out and gain a healthy tummy.

Day 87 ( Saturday, March 28 )

While waiting to go out for brunch, we noticed this beautiful bird in the tree. Spring has sprung and the birds are quite chirpy.

Day 88 ( Sunday, March 29 )

It was a calm day at work today with only 45 customers over the span of 5 hours.
On the front of this chocolate container, there's an owl, but what you may not now is that there's a cute kitty on the back ;)

Day 89 ( Monday, March 30 )
It's the first day of classes and nothing feels better than another fresh start.

I've seen a few facebook statuses from seniors stating that it was their last "first day". One day, that time will come for me too.

I went to pick up a book from the library for one of my classes and I'm always interested to see the previous dates. Some other student was studying the same subject that I am before I was born!

Day 90 ( Tuesday, March 31 )
This doggy was tied to a tree. He must have felt pretty lonely.

Let's Go to AUSTRALIA!

We have officially bought the tickets as of today, March 24th.
Clicking that "Confirm" button was partly terrifying and anticlimactic. The sum exceeded my limit on my debit card and I was required to call my bank in order for the charges to go through. After a ten minute call with a representative, I submitted my request for a ticket a second time and was successful! This girl has finally got her ticket!!

After a quick call with my buddy, we realized our seats were not adjacent to each other and we of course had to get that fixed. The first leg of the trip is 14 hours to Brisbane and after a different call to an airline representative, our seats should be next to one another!

The lady on the phone had an Australian accent and I couldn't help but giggle to myself silently.  There were times when I had to ask her to repeat herself because I couldn't understand the content of what she was trying to explain to me. I had so much fun listening to her accent and I can't wait to be immersed in it this summer.

There are 92 days left until my "first real adventure". Let the countdown begin!

Planning for our Big Trip: The Beginnings

I can't help but imagine myself traveling across the globe to a far away place, soaking up the sun and being free. At this age, I can not think of the perfect time for another period in life where I can go ahead and take seven weeks off with no outside commitments. I believe that the time to travel is now.

Our route  across the Australia continually changes due to rental car plans, the weather, and other issues but I can't wait until we buy our tickets and the trip finally becomes official. Buying an international ticket by myself seems to be such a big step and I feel as if this occasion is almost worth celebrating. The ticket for this trip symbolizes a single step toward my autonomy as an adult and paying for it all by myself will be a challenge, but it is one that is worthy of accepting.

Dani and I have began preparing for the trip by utilizing apps and books to research places to go and things to do. This country has so much to offer and I can't wait to dive in and experience it all!

We also took apartment photos on balcony because it was so hot out today and I couldn't stand staying cooped up inside.

Day 74 ( Sunday, March 15 )
The sunset was beautiful. Pink cotton candy skies.

Day 75 ( Monday, March 16 )

Wanted to walk to the beach after exams but Hee Yeon and I were hungry and went to eat a good dinner instead.
Here was the view on the walk there.

Day 76 ( Tuesday, March 17 )
It has been so hot lately. All the drinks at the store have run out, including water. That just goes to show how hot it has been this past week. I treated myself to some soda because I haven't had any for the longest time.

Day 77 ( Wednesday, March 18 )
Hung out at Barnes and Noble for a bit and found HONY's book

Day 78 ( Thursday, March 19 )

Watched Damn Yankees at the local theater.

Day 79 ( Friday, March 20 )
Disneyland.

Day 80 ( Saturday, March 21 )

Bowling. I never realized my ol' man was so good.

The song "Put on Your Sunday Clothes" from the musical Hey, Dolly has been stuck in my head all day. I also didn't realize that it was the song that plays in the movie Wall-E.

Uncle George told me about Indian students taking exit exams and parents sending notes to help them cheat.

Day 61 through Day 70

Day 61 (March 1, 2015)
Flash cards. Get it?

Day 62 (March 2, 2015)
Today is Dr. Seuss' birthday!

I also saw this quotation by Cesar Chavez, "When we are really honest with ourselves we must admit that our lives are all that really belong to us. It is my deepest belief that only by giving our lives do we find life."

Day 63 (March 3, 2015)
Been busy with school. This was the only photo I took for today.

Day 64 (March 4, 2015)
A wild Squirtle appeared while I was waiting for class.

Day 65 (March 5, 2015)
Screenshot of this photo by Kim from "Lace and Locks". I want to go back to the Tufts in Mono Lake and take a similar photo there.

Day 66 (Friday March 6, 2015)
Got a new perspective from the 5th floor of my math professor's building. I walked outside and saw the ocean. I didn't realize one could see it from this building. When I looked down, the person and the bikes looked so small.

Day 67 ( Saturday March 7, 2015 )
Closing shift crew, Friday night but also technically Saturday morning.

Day 68 ( Sunday, March 8, 2015 )
Today is International Women's Day. Must be strong!

Day 69 (Monday, March 9, 2015)
By coincidence I wore the same outfit as the one I wore almost exactly a year ago. My hair has grown a lot and I would like to believe that I've grown as a person too.

I would say I'm happier now in comparison to a year ago.

Day 70 (Tuesday, March 10, 2015)
Playing with fire during the last lab period of the quarter.

Day 70 (Wednesday, March 11, 2015)
Received a new shirt today! llama llama, llama llama!

Everyone is studying hard in the library.
